Strong, sustainable supply chains can only be achieved if the most fragile player, smallholders, are empowered. The definition of ‘smallholders’ together with engagement guideline is being finalized with the aim to have a new ordinary membership category that would allow smallholders to express their views, ideas and concerns to the other international players within GPSNR.
On December 1st, GPSNR will transfer its hosting from BCSD Singapore Ltd to the newly formed World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) Asia Pacific Ltd. The purpose of this migration would enable GPSNR to better leverage synergies and explore means of collaboration within the wider network of WBCSD.
Strategy & Objectives Working Group continues to work on the desired state document and Theory of Change. Strategy 1, 2, and 3 Working Groups kicked off the first calls with the background information on how their works are contributing to the design of GPSNR Assurance Model, which will be recommended by consultant Liza Murphy.
Two workshops have been successfully held. More than 20 rubber smallholders from all over Indonesia - Kalimantan, South Sumatra, West Sumatra and Jambi gathered during the workshop in October 7th - 9th. The workshop in Thailand just finished with a fruitful discussion on collaboration opportunities between rubber smallholders and GPSNR.
