The Strategy and Objectives Working Group continues to build out the scope and desired deliverables for the first 3 strategies that GPSNR should implement.
Bringing the platform to smallholders – launching workshops in 5 different countries and regions to understand how smallholders could be integrated in the rubber platform governance to help design a pathway to sustainable natural rubber production.
The Strategy and Objectives Working Group, which has the main responsibility of determining the strategies needed to address social, economic and environmental impacts to achieve the desired state of the platform, has been extensively working on defining the desired state which identifies what GPSNR members would want being achieved when natural rubber is sustainably produced and utilized.
In January 2019, interested stakeholders came together in Singapore to discuss on the governance and objectives of the platform. Participants attending the workshop unanimously agreed that to bring about a change, work must be done to ensure smallholder inclusivity within the platform. In order to achieve this, the Smallholders Representation Working Group was created and assigned the main responsibility of coordinating actions to identify and secure adequate smallholder representation within the GPSNR governance.
In June 2019, GPSNR was chosen by ESSEC Business School Asia-Pacific in Singapore as one of the partner organizations for their Global Manager in Asia (GMA) track 2019.
